Events 2007:
Leadership Development for the Senior Management Team  
  SymIndia has been chosen to partner Symphony Services in a very strategic Leadership Development initiative for the Senior Management personnel. This entire initiative would be delivered to a chosen group of senior executives across multiple phases. Our Management Domain Specialist, Ranga, initiated the same through a session on “Thought Patterns” that was very well received.  
Demystifying Soft-skills for the Architects  
  Ranga, was invited to deliver a key session on “De-mystifying Soft Skills for Architects” at the Software Architect Forum (SAF 2007) organized by Microsoft Corporation, India. This two-day event is primarily targeted towards the Technical Architects of the country. To quote the event-manager at Microsoft, “In terms of the ratings this was the best session”….  
Effective Customer Engagement Program  
  Another batch of the in-depth programme on “Effective Customer Engagement” was delivered by Ranga to Infosys-BPO for their Senior Managers. This program focuses on building and retaining large-accounts. SymIndia delivers this program, especially designed for Infosys-BPO, every quarter, for the select Senior Managers at Infosys-BPO.  
BizTalk Server 2006 Program  
  This program, delivered by Meena K, our Technical Domain Head, was an intensive 8-day offering on the Core Architecture of BizTalk Server 2006 for Microsoft GTSC, Bangalore; this program covered the new features incorporated while also reinforcing the various existing features. The participants, from the development and support team of Microsoft, had a lot of hands-on on all the concepts discussed, which added to the learning experience. Meena has been recognized as one of the very few trainers in India who can handle such in-depth topics.  
Advanced Workflow Foundation Training Program  
  Meena K delivered an Advanced Workflow Foundation Program for Infosys to a set of senior technical professionals steeped in the technology. The focus was on Design and Development, and Designer Re-hosting. The Activity Execution Model was handled in-depth. This program was very well-received by the participants. Meena has been recognized as one of the very few trainers in India who can handle such in-depth topics.

As the preamble to our improving upon our Offerings, SymIndia has been on the look-out for top-notch Trainers, scouring our Contact-network and, of course, through postings on the Net. Realizing that such resources are averse to getting tied down to a single organization on employee mode, we chose the Retainer route. Prospective Retainers will need to go through a rigorous and stringent Certification process before delivering SymIndia programs. While the inimitable SymIndia quality of programs will continue to be sustained, the unique flavor brought in by these resources will accentuate the Offerings, making these a greater value-add.

There has been an overwhelming response and interactions are already under way with promising prospects. As of now, the following Retainers have signed up with us:

Mr. Karuppan Gnanasambandan: KRG, as he would like to be addressed, completed his Master’s and entered the Pharmaceuticals Industry. Taking up various roles and responsibilities which included training people at different levels, he quickly scaled up the corporate ladder. Taking an active part in Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce, he underwent rigorous training in Canada to facilitate knowledge-sharing.

Mr. Srinivasa Vaduguru: Srini, an M. Tech in Systems Analysis and Computer Applications, started his career as a Educationist, quickly moved into the I.T Industry taking up various assignments in various roles leading upto heading multiple Quality Assurance teams. He has chosen to make the shift into Organizational Development Training as he would like others too to benefit from his rich experience.

Ms. Sowmya Prabhakar: Armed with a Master’s in Social Work and experience in the IT Industry handling a gamut of people functions, Sowmya’s passion to learn—and to share such knowledge with others has brought her to the portals of SymIndia. Her forte is persuasive communication skills and effective employee engagement.

Ms. Osma Mascarenhas: Osma, a Master’s in Business Administration, started her career in Corporate Sales with The Taj Group of Hotels, Bangalore. She has an excellent exposure to Customer Interaction having been a Relationship Manager with HDFC Bank. Her natural prowess as a communicator coupled with her inter-personal skills combined with her yearning for learning and helping others learn has been the underlying driving force behind this career move.

KAIZEN is a Japanese concept, originated in manufacturing environment. It is equally applicable in different walks of life, personal and professional. Although the Japanese brought it out, the concept has been described in various Indian texts much before that. Feelings and Emotions Energize Your Thoughts

Most of you have probably heard or read about creative visualization. Some of you have perhaps tried it. The idea is that by visualizing a mental image of a desired object or situation, you can attract it into your life. In this way you can change and shape your life, behavior and circumstances.

This technique utilizes the power of thoughts, but thoughts alone are not enough to make things happen. Some additional ingredients are required to energize the thoughts into action. These ingredients are your feelings and emotions.
What makes you take action, a cold uninteresting thought, or one charged with emotion?

What kind of lecturer rivets your attention, someone who talks in a boring, listless manner, or a lecturer who talks with zest and emotion?

People, actions and thoughts charged with emotion make a stronger impact. This is why it is important to add emotions to your thoughts, if you wish to manifest them. Feelings and emotions put life into thoughts and make them produce effect in the external world, the same way that electricity make electrical appliances work. Both electricity and thoughts require some sort of energy to make them work and produce results.

How to use the power of feelings and emotions in a practical way?
In order to make your thoughts come true, you need to charge them with emotional energy. Thoughts that are charged with emotional energy have greater affect and can drive into action. This is one of the secrets of using successfully the techniques of creative visualization.

If you want to achieve anything through creative visualization you need to energize your thoughts. You can do so by producing positive and happy feelings of success and happiness, and associating them with your goal.

All of us have experienced at least some sort of success or happiness in our life. Even small manifestations of success count. Think and find out such past moments. Remind yourself of that success or happiness and relive it in your imagination. Visualize the event as clearly as you can, and let the positive and happy feelings you experienced at that time become alive again. Relive and relish the happiness, exhilaration and feeling of success that you have awakened.

While in this mental and emotional state, start visualizing your current goal, while at the same time continuing to relive in your imagination the feelings and emotions you have awakened. Associate those feelings with your present goal. Feel as if you have already accomplished your goal, and you are feeling great, happy and satisfied. This action will inject energy into your thoughts and make them stronger.

In time, you will be able arouse feelings of success and accomplishment, without the need to use this method.

By charging your thoughts with emotional energy you can accomplish wonders. You set powers into action that will bring you the opportunities, tools or people necessary to accomplish your goals.
